Why Beeswax

Linda, who loves bees!…

Hi my name’s Linda – this may sound quirky but when I was young I was fascinated to watch bees in our garden hover around flowers. I felt a great admiration and empathy for them, even from that young age. Recently I felt a compulsion to make beeswax candles and read avidly about them and their health benefits. I am an asthmatic and I became aware that people benefit from the air purifying qualities of the burning candles. So in the beginning I didn’t know a lot about them and started as one does in any endeavor – slowly through trial and error.

Peter my husband and I live in a small house with a small garden, and lo and behold several bees would always find me, through the kitchen window, and hover around me as I made the candles. I have never felt any fear of them, or them stinging me and I honor them as God’s wonderful creations. They can only bring good and they are good. How can a creature that makes wonderful honey be anything but good?

So I made several different styles from pure NSW (New South Wales, a state in Australia) beeswax from a NSW apiary. Lovely people who make the pure organic beeswax. It was explained to me, and I listened with great reverence, as it was explained to me by Dominique the French beekeeper who had settled in the hinterlands of outer Sydney to make his honey and beeswax, that the bees secrete the wax from their glands and use it to make honey comb. Wow! I thought what a wonder.

I am proud of my candles, they are all handmade. I make them with love from my heart. I feel I am working with the bees to make this a better world. There are so many therapeutic qualities bees wax candles have such as ionizing the air and acting to clean the air of toxins. There are so many positive qualities, too many to list here. I call them the ECO candle! I really feel we all have to do our bit to try and clean up the world right now – and this is how I wish to contribute and hope you will join me

A little bit more about me,

I have three grown up kids and they all live in Europe and America. They like my husband Peter are in the music business. I have sent them my candles and they tell me their friends and they love them. In fact their friends so love the natural scent of honey that they want more and I tell them about the dangers of paraffin and other candle types – and they listen. Great to have good kids that listen… Ha Ha

To tell you a little more about me, originally I was born in Melbourne (south of Sydney). My parents were immigrants from Poland and were in the clothing business. When I as about 16 I got into the theatre and featured in several TV productions at that time including a show which was quite popular called Bellbird. So enough about me…to bee or not to bee…hmm
